Friday we had a St. Patrick’s Day party at the school where I teach English for the 15-16 year old class. It was so much fun. I love kids that age. And I love St. Patrick’s Day. I held captive their attention while I recounted the story of St. Patrick as I understood it from Adventures in Odyssey and Veggie Tales. I count my years in St. Patrick’s Days. It’s kind of like New Year’s for me. Last year I was learning to forgive myself. Two years ago I was at IHOP wearing a black hoodie and trying to be someone I’m not. The year before I was in the Philippines probably. Senior year. I was probably lying in a ditch at 3 in the morning in a park.
So I didn’t get off campus. Who needs a новоый roommate? Please apply if you do not live in Olson, English, Wengatz or Sammy and are ok with me never being there. I was so ticked off when I found out. I called my mom and considered not returning to Taylor. Good thing I don’t always follow my first instincts. I really miss BeccaRu and Anna and Yenta and Twin and Hannah K, and my Asian daughters. Ah, I really miss them. I need to be careful about missing people because I’ll start to miss the past and not them as they are now. I’ve been gone a while and things have probably changed at least a little. Man, I’m going to be a senior. That’s so weird. I was out at a клуб late last night so I spent the night at my friend Christa's. This morning we talked about how weird it will be to go back and be seniors. She spend last semester in Australia, so she's been gone a whole year now.
In good news, it now gets dark here at about 8pm. It's great.

amy, that's a really good point about missing people. pretty sure i'm guilty of missing the past sometimes a bit too much. well, i know that i love you NOW and am REALLY glad you're not following that first instinct because i am already excited to see you and be with you again for a whole year and find out how you've changed as a result of russia...
